What’s in your locker?

Lab3 designed prints for 489 (out of a total of 689) locker doors in a newly built school, the Baarnsch Lyceum in Baarn. The design had to enliven the vast hallway.  Key words were: curiosity, triggering the students, recognisability and humour. With a view to sustainability, only the doors of the old lockers were replaced. Part of the work was done in a sheltered workshop. Lab3 came up with seven different prints showing what students may stash in their lockers, ranging from books to an artificial ear, from bananas to a bottle of glue and completely empty lockers. The school’s management heavily censored the displayed items. No condoms or energy drinks were allowed!
Ts Visuals developed and supplied just the right technique for the job: Sublimax, a new way of sublimation printing whereby the images were scanned and printed seamlessly onto the 1mm varnished steel. The result is a stunning and sustainable hallway.
